Shannon,

We will do whatever you suggest is best for us. If that means upgrading from 4 to 6 is the most cost effective for us, that’s fine. We are running version 12, and have been for quite some time now. We initially installed V4 back in ’03 when we bought it, but we never used it, so it was uninstalled at some point, to the best of my recollection.

Shannon, I recall we received a promotional fax or mailing directly from Best regarding special pricing on V4, so we faxed the purchase authorization directly back to Best. I apologize, as it never occurred to me to run it through you. We’ll make it up to you somehow.

I was unaware that there was no change between 6 and 7 in that area. We are at the point in our Stromberg installation where we are needing to export employee data to Stromberg and Stromberg is tweaking their interface to make sure the two programs can communicate properly. So rather than having them tweak it to interface with v12, then having them do it again for v6 or 7, I told them to wait until we had 6 installed, then we would resume the Stromberg installation. Confused? Sorry!

Cpumama…that’s great!! My wife is IrishHoopMama (our daughter played 4 years of women’s college basketball for Notre Dame).

Subject: BusinessWorks version 7

Marty,

Good day. Thank you for your call this morning. I'm glad to hear you are strongly considering upgrading to Sage BusinessWorks version 6. As I indicated, if you upgrade to v6 by Friday July 28th, we can also make version 7 Controlled Release available to you in mid-August so that you don't have to wait until November to receive the additional improvements.

The purpose of the Controlled Release is to provide customers with the opportunity to take advantage of the feature enhancements contained in the release approximately 8 weeks before the release is made available to the public. This provides us with additional validation that the features are meeting our customers needs. Software provided is stable and ready for daily use, as we do not release controlled release software until we have performed extensive internal and external testing. We ask that Controlled Release sites install the software and begin using it with their business immediately upon receiving the CD from Sage. There are no special testing scripts you must follow. We simply ask that you use the software as you normally do and complete a brief questionnaire at the end of the controlled release cycle (approximately 3 weeks) to provide us with your feedback. To thank you for using the software and completing the survey we will extend your support plan by 6 months. (Up to a $559.50 value)

As you requested, I'm attaching a copy of the version 7 Enhancement Summary and PR Timecard Import File Formats. Also here is a link to the v2 - v6 Enhancement Summary. http://www.sagesoftware.com/businessworks/product/CompleteEnhancementSummary.pdf

As I mentioned, I strongly recommend working with your Shannon to make sure the upgrade is set up to fully meet your needs. I've worked with Shannon for quite some time and she is extremely knowledgeable.

Thank you for using Sage BusinessWorks. We appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

Tammy Mathews
